The value of loss

I recently went thru, what i thought was, a crisis. My stubborn self tipped over a full cup of iced tea over my always worn accessory, my cell phone. All my numbers were stored in the memory of this phone and of course with today's technology, we don't exercise our minds anymore with recording numbers in our head, we just name them and look for them in our address book.

It is when you lose something that you know the true value of it. I was able to realize one simple truth..I will never need more then a few available slots to save phone numbers. This is the moment when you can really figure out how to clean your phone.... I know in occasions you've grabbed your cell (usually in the bathroom or while trying to sleep) and looked over your contact list, searching for something, yet you dont know what it is, so you decide to erase some numbers or make some phone calls to those who you probably didn't even remember you had in speed dial.

What's the use, i knew from the moment my cell died that there was no turning back, I had left my wireless status behind and exercised my mind once more. I'm glad that the numbers that are important to me are still in my head, and im glad that after getting my replacement in only one day (thank u t-mobile for having such an excellent cust service), i have received very limited calls, mostly family. This only enlightens me more that the ones that i know are my friends, dont need to provide me with an empty memory slot, they will find a way to get in touch with me.

Please, to my readers, don't take this as a lonely posting, cause it's not. It only proves that people you meet have a particular reason in your life, most of them for just a moment, some of them for months at a time and very few to become a part of your life.

All in all, it's good to know that i dont need a cell phone full of names... I am lucky to know the people that i do and have learned from them all.

I think it´s nice to see when little things like ice tea over your cell happens, which are the friends you keep in the memory of your heart. Yours is number one in my list of contacts of friends that more than friends have grown to be family.
